Award-Winning Composers Present New Music for Chamber Ensembles

On March 9, 2007, the New York Composers Circle (NYCC) will present its second concert of the 2006-2007 season.

Renowned composer John Eaton, an NYCC Honorary Composer-Member and this season’s Chair of the NYCC’s Programming Committee, announced the nine composers who will present new chamber music works at the March 9, 2007 concert:

Richard Russell: "Three Elegies" (sopr., perc.)
Eugene McBride: "The Maverick" (fl., tpt., tmb., perc., vc., pno.)
John Eaton: "Two Brecht Songs" (sopr., fl., clar., vla., vc.)
Don Hagar: "Missing Time" (fl., clar., pno., vl., vc.)
Jacob E. Goodman: "Quintet" (fl., vl., vla., vc., pno.)
Tamara Cashour: "Wild Nights" (sopr., pno.)
Nataliya Medvedovskaya: "Four Pieces from the Suite Pantomimes" (cl., pno.)
Noah Haverkamp: "the government is destroying our water" (vl., vla., vc., pno.)
Yekaterina Merkulyeva: "Mirage" (pno.)

The New York Mandolin Orchestra (NYMO) will present its Spring concert on Sunday, March 18 at 2PM. The concert will be held at the High School for Health Professions and Services, 345 E. 15th Street (near 1st Avenue), with very special guest Barry Mitterhofft. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for students and seniors. Children under 14 are free.

NYMO invites all those with an interest in the mandolin, whether expert or beginner, to attend orchestra rehearsals. Rehearsals are held every Tuesday from September to June at the Atria, 333 W.86th Street. Rehearsals start at 7:00PM. Please arrive early to tune up.
